Terms of Use — Points of Interest

This is a draft for product use so people know how Points of Interest works. It is not formal legal advice. We may revise it before or after launch.
What this product is
Points of Interest is a visual archive for the objects of your obsessions. Think of an empty museum where you are the curator. You build an Ecosystem of Holotypes (also called Entries)—the things you collect—with photos and notes so you can find them again without relying on memory.
Account and eligibility
You need an account (email and password) to save and grow your Ecosystem. You must be able to form a binding agreement where you live. The service is not directed at children under 13. Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
Your Holotypes (user content)
You can upload photos and write text for Holotypes in your Ecosystem. You are responsible for what you upload and for having the rights to share it. Do not upload content you do not have permission to use.
Ownership and license
You own the content you create and upload. By using Points of Interest, you give us a limited license to host, store, display, and back up that content so the product can work (for example, showing your Holotypes in your Ecosystem and serving images from our storage). We do not claim ownership of your Holotypes or your Ecosystem.
Prohibited use
Do not use the service to:
- break the law or infringe others’ rights (including copyright and privacy)
- upload malware, scrape or attack the service, or try to bypass security
- harass people, spam, or post illegal or clearly harmful material
- impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are in a deceptive way
We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules.

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Plans and billing (PROVISIONAL — subject to change)
PROVISIONAL. Product and billing details may still change. Nothing below is final payment terms. Do not treat this as a binding price list.
Free stays free within the Free Holotype cap. Paid is an optional upgrade — you are not charged until you choose Pro.
- Free — intended cap around 50 Holotypes
- Pro — intended around $10 USD/month or $100 USD/year, with a higher intended cap around 500 Holotypes. Prices are in USD; taxes may apply where required.
- Cancel: expected to be available from the account/billing flow once paid plans ship; details TBD
- Refunds: TBD — policy not decided yet
- After cancel or a failed payment: your existing Holotypes are kept; new saves may be limited to the Free Holotype cap
When paid plans go live, we will update this page and mark what is no longer provisional.
The service is provided “as is”
We work hard to keep Points of Interest running, but we do not promise uninterrupted access, perfect backups, or that the product will always meet every need. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind.
Termination
You can stop using the product anytime. You can ask us to delete your account by emailing the contact below (self-serve delete is not built yet). We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if we have to for legal or security reasons, or if we shut the service down. We will try to give notice when we reasonably can.
